Jan Shikshan Sansthan, Shimoga has conducted International Yoga Day on 21.06.2017 at JSS premises, Shimoga, APMC yard, Javalli and Grama Paqnchayat Premises, Hanumanthapura in co ordination with Swamy Vivekananda Vidya Samsthe, Grama Panchayat and Malnad Seva Samsthe, Shimoga. Smt S.Y.Aruna Devi, Director, JSS inaugurated the International Literacy Day and various vocational Trainings, she said that “Yoga is an invaluable gift of ancient Indian tradition. Yoga is harmony between human and nature and a holistic approach to health and well being, Yoga – Ayurvedha – Nature cure are inter related and plays very important role in the human health. She was explained about Jala Neti, Sutra (Rubber) Neti, Vamana and said, Yoga is incomplete without Pranayam, Jal Neti and Sutra Neti.

Addressing the gathering later, Smt S.Y.Aruna Devi said that, apart from improving the physical health, practicing yoga and pranayama regularly also enhances self-confidence. yoga and pranayama should become part of the school curricula to ensure comprehensive development of children’s personalities.

After the awareness programme, the trainees and beneficiaries of JSS, Shimoga performed yoga exercises on the occasion.

Yoga Day Celebration at PES Public School

International Yoga Day was celebrated by Shimoga JSS in collaboration with PES Trust. Smt. S Y Arunadevi, Director of Shimoga JSS was the Chief Guest. During her speech, she reiterated the significance of yoga in day today life. Yoga should not just be considered for occasional practice but it should become a way of life. She stressed on the point that Yoga and Pranayamas are the keys for a healthy and successful life. Yoga is an ancient way of life contributed to the world by our ancestors. It not only helps to maintain good health but also encourages to live in harmony by transforming the mind and hearts.

Focusing on different techniques and pranayamas, she gave a message to the audience that Bhastrika, Nadishoda and Bhramara practices are so powerful than any kind of medicines. . She was explained about kriyas namely Jala Neti, Sutra (Rubber) Neti, Vamana. She demonstrated these to express the great advantages of these techniques. She also expressed her concern about the food habits of modern generation without knowing what kind of damages their food habit may cause. In her advice to the audience, she pleaded for consuming herbal medicines and unadulterated vegetables and grains.
